The school year starts in January and ends in december and most schools require students to wear school uniforms. Children have to go to school when their are five until six years old. The learning areas are: English, Math, Science, Social Science, Technologies, Health and Physical Education as well as Languages. Children can go to primary schools [=Grundschule] from the age of 1 year. They focus on the basics of reading and writing, arithmetic [=Rechnen] and social skills.
